Tanzania Rewilded

Our Vehicles
II · The Fleet

Built for the wild roads.

Privately-owned 4x4 Land Cruisers with pop-up roofs, a window seat for every guest, and guides who are mechanics when the track turns rough.

The fleet

Purpose-built Land Cruisers, maintained like our lives depend on them.

Out here they sometimes do. Every game drive happens in a privately-owned Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4 — never a shared minibus, never a sub-contracted vehicle we have not inspected. Each is configured for long days in the bush, full visibility, and the comfort that turns a ten-hour drive into a pleasure rather than an endurance test.

Pop-up roof game viewing

Open roof, open sides, every seat a window seat.

Full-length pop-up roofs let everyone stand and shoot in 360 degrees. Large sliding windows on both sides mean no one is ever stuck on the wrong side of a leopard. We cap every private vehicle well below its legal capacity so each guest gets a window, a charging point and room to move.

Vehicle interior comfort

Built for the long road, kitted for the bush.

Onboard fridge stocked with water and drinks, charging for cameras and phones, reference books and binoculars, a full first-aid kit, recovery gear and a satellite-capable means of contact. Long-range fuel tanks let us reach the corners of the Serengeti and the southern parks without turning back.

Maintenance & safety

Inspected before every departure.

Tyres, brakes, fluids and recovery equipment are checked against a written pre-trip list before any vehicle leaves Arusha. Our guides are also trained mechanics — a punctured tyre or a bogged wheel on a remote track is a twenty-minute pause, not a ruined day.
